The Bay of Fires is a bay on the northeastern coast of Tasmania in Australia. It spans from the Binalong Bay to the Eddystone Point. Within the Mt.William National Park, the north eastern section of the Bay lies, from north of the outskirts of Ansons Bay to Eddystone Point. The middle portion of the Bay of Fires lies around the vicinity of Ansons Bay. The southern section of The Bay of Fires is in the Conservation Area, situated along a 13 km stretch of coast between Binalong Bay and The Gardens.

In 1773 The bay was named by Captain Tobias Furneaux, who saw fires of Aboriginal people of the beaches. This made him realize that it was a heavily populated country. Sufficient evidence of Aboriginal people can be seen along the coast even to this day confirming this occupation.

The Bay itself is a natural splendor, little wonder it attracts guests annually. Being itself a region of white beaches, blue water and orange hued granite, the never before seen beauty of its white beaches and the blue waters is sight to behold, and this makes the travellers fall in love with the beauty put on for display.

This bay is the number one choice for nature lovers especially travellers and international guests. At the end of Walking season in May every year, the globally popular Bay of Fires lodge remain open for service for guests. Accomodation here on the east coast of Tasmania is limited and insufficient because it is remote due to poor development. Amongst the locals, they are known as shacks, indeed most of the accommodation available consists of small cottages and bungalows.

Life on the Bay of Fires has no shortage of fun. On the contrary however it is fun filled with activities such as camping, beach activities, boating, bird watching, fishing, swimming, surfing and walking. The visitors are also advised not to disturb the Shell and bone deposits in the sand dunes.

In light of the low rate of development of the area, lodging nevertheless can offer some sort of resistance. Guests have the facility of the Bay of Fire lodge which is available for the guests when the walking season ends in May annually. An amazing accommodation for guests both in comfortable hospitality and offering excellent views up and down the pristine white sandy beaches, the lodge also is autonomous in providing and managing its existence. With light being powered from Solar energy, hot showers and comfortable hotel beds offer a much needed relaxation at the end of each dayís activities.
